MA Summer Reading List 2019-20
Please find below the MA summer reading list which will provide you with an introduction to the modules due to run in 2019/20, as well as indicative reading to familiarise you with the key topic areas covered in each module.
Welcome to Warwick
This webpage will provide you with general information about pre-arrival and arrival information to prepare you for starting your course. There is also information about Welcome Week, which will be held Monday 23rd - Sunday 29th September and is open to all first year students.
Postgraduate Induction Information
Thursday 26th September 2019
1. General Induction for all Postgraduate Students
This will include a welcome from the Head of Department and the Director of Graduate Studies, key information regarding our postgraduate community and a talk from the Student Union.
Time: 10:00-11:30am
Location: H0.64 (Humanities Building, ground floor)
2. Specific Programme Induction Sessions
MA and MPhil Students:
Time: 11:30-12:30pm
Location: H0.64 (Humanities Building, ground floor)

3. Lunch
All new students and staff are invited to lunch after the above induction meetings. This will be held in the foyer outside of room H0.64 in the Humanities Building.
4. PG Information Fair
This will provide the opportunity for you to informally meet the course convenors and other members of staff from the Department. There will also be representatives from other departments across the University, including the PG Hub and Migration, Identity and Translation Network team.

5. Postgraduate Welcome Conference
As part of the induction activities, the Department will hold a Postgraduate Welcome Conference which will comprise of talks from students and staff. A lunch will be provided before the conference and will provide an opportunity for new students to meet some of our current staff and students.
Lunch: 12:00 - 1:30pm (Outside H0.52, Humanities Building)
Conference: 1:30pm - 6:00pm (H0.52, Humanities Building)
Other University Induction Events
One event which will be of interest to incoming research students is the CADRE induction event on Monday 30th September 2019 5:00-6:30pm in H0.51 (Humanities Building). CADRE (Centre for Arts Doctoral Research Excellence) provides funding, professional development, events, training and information for research students in the Arts Faculty (including the Department of Philosophy).
