CFP Grad Conference in Philosophy & Literature
The Department of Philosophy and CRPLA will host a graduate conference in philosophy and literature on 26 May 2009, with keynote speaker G. R. F. Ferrari (UC Berkeley). Click here for call for papers.
New M.Phil program in Philosophy
The department is to launch a two year taught research M.Phil degree in Philosophy. This will be part of a 2 + 2 graduate program. The program, subject to approval, will provide in depth training in three main areas of the discipline. Students will be assessed in three areas of their choice plus a dissertation in years 1 & 2 before proceeding to develop their research into a doctoral thesis in years 3 & 4. Scholarships are available.

New appointment - Walter Dean
The Department is delighted to announce that Dr Walter Dean is joining us in January 2009. Walter works on philosophy of mathematics and mathematical logic and will be playing a key role in the development of our BA Maths & Philosophy.
