Travel and Accommodation Information
Conference Venue
The University of Warwick is located approximately three miles from the centre of Coventry (not in Warwick). General information about how to get to the University can be found here.
The conference will take place in room MS.03 in the Mathematics and Statistics building (also known as the Zeeman Building), which is number 38 on the campus map.
Travel by Train
There are two ways of getting to campus. The first is by travelling to Leamington Spa railway station and then taking a U1, U2 or number 11 bus to the University. These buses are frequent and a little over three pounds for a return journey. Note that the number 11 requires passengers to have exact change. With the main entrance to Leamington station behind you, cross the road towards the opposite corner, and walk towards the overhead railway bridge, past the old pub on the corner. The bus stop is easy to see and anyone can direct you. It takes between 20 and 30 minutes and it is clear when you have arrived. The Mathematics and Statistics building is near the second bus stop on campus, after the roundabout and before the Sports Centre.
Alternatively, there are equally frequent number 12 and 11 buses from Coventry railway station. Remain in the station and take the outside steps by the car park to the bus stop. These run roughly every 15 minutes, cost around two pounds and will take you to the University in about 15 to 20 minutes. Exact change is needed.
Travel by Car
If you are travelling by car, take the A46 to Coventry from the motorway. Do not turn off at Leamington Spa or Warwick – the University is located on the outskirts of Coventry. Follow signs for Warwick Arts Centre (our cinema and theatre complex), which is clearly signposted about one third of a mile before the turn off. At the turn off, stay in the left hand lane which takes you left only. Keep following Arts Centre or University signs for the next 10 minutes and you will arrive at the Warwick campus. There are various pay-and-display car parks available.
Accommodation
We recommend staying in a hotel or bed and breakfast in Leamington Spa or Coventry, both of which have frequent bus links to the University of Warwick (details above). There are several reasonably priced B&B’s in the area which will be able to take your booking.
Those wishing to stay in Leamington can find a list of Hotels and B&Bs here. Bear in mind the walking distance to the top of the Parade – the main shopping street in Leamington – which is where most of the easy to find bus stops are located.
Refer to the synoptic pdf, downloadable through the relevant link on the right of this page, for a list of hotels and guesthouses in Coventry.
Registration & Conference Dinner
If you are not a Warwick student or a speaker, you need to register in order to attend the conference. You are also required to pay an attendance fee of £20, which will cover the refreshment costs for both days. However, for the first 30 people to register, 50% of the attendance fee will be covered by the Analysis Trust, and 25% by Warwick Philosophy Department. Please refer to the relevant page of this website both to register and to book the Conference Dinner.
