    • Dr Gurminder K Bhambra was awarded the Philip Abrams Memorial Prize for her book 'Rethinking Modernity: Postcolonialism and the Sociological Imagination' (2007, Palgrave MacMillan). 
    • Dr Richard Lampard was awarded the Sage Prize for Innovation and Excellence for his article 'Is Social Mobility an Echo of Educational Mobility? Parents' Educations and Occupations and their Children's Occupational Attainment' published in Sociological Research On-Line (2007, Volum 12, Issue 5)
