Project overview

Dr Maria do Mar Pereira’s research has produced new concepts, changed policy-making and national school curricula, and inspires many within and outside academia, by illuminating hidden aspects of everyday life. With this Leverhulme Prize she plans to produce unique insight on gender and austerity by re-interviewing participants that she observed a decade ago for her award-winning first book Fazendo Género no Recreio: a Negociação do Género em Espaço Escolar (2012). A second project will study the impacts of changing forms of gender inequality among new-parents.
