Beware of fake emails trying to steal your passwords

The university is again being targetted with emails from criminals trying to steal your passwords. Never reply to emails asking for your passwords. If you are in any doubt contact the Helpdesk.

We have created a new tool that we hope will greatly ease the problem of re-using my.wbs resources between one year and the next.

NETWORK REPLACEMENT PROJECT - DISRUPTION TO SERVICES IN WBS

Following consultation with WBS, IT Services have set the times for work as part of the network replacement project:

- Social Studies: July 2nd - 3rd (with Sunday 4th as a contingency should work overrun)

Expected impact: All users will lose connectivity for around 5 minutes on Friday July 2nd. Each user will then see a further period of 20-30 minutes on Sat 3rd when no IT services will be available.

- Scarman Road: July 27th - 29th

Expected impact: All users will lose connectivity for around 5 minutes on the first day between 08.00 and 09.00. Each user will then see a further period of 20-30 minutes when no IT services will be available. Further details as to timings are due to follow from ITS.

OFFICE 2010 COMING SOON - VOLUNTEERS WANTED

Microsoft recently released the latest version of its Office product. Trial versions have been in use within ISSU for around 6 months without particular issues. Please let us know if you would be interested in being an early adopter.
