EMAIL CHANGES
Changes have been made to the routing of our incoming and outgoing email to reduce delays and the risk of emails we send being blocked. All external email now goes directly between WBS and the outside world without having to pass through IT Services mail relays first. For more information please see:
http://help.wbs.ac.uk/projects/emailchangesmay09
SPAM EMAIL FROM YOUR OWN EMAIL ADDRESS
Some staff have reported receiving spam email that looks like it was sent from their own email address. It is very easy to fake ('spoof') email addresses and this does not mean your account has been compromised in any way. Our advice is to delete such spam messages or to forward them to submit-spam@icritical.com . Information regarding this kind of spam can be found here:
http://help.wbs.ac.uk/kb/security/email/emailspoofing .Please do not forward spam to us unless specifically requested to do so.
FREQUENT CONTACTS IN GROUPWISE
GroupWise has the ability to store automatically the addresses of emails that are sent and /or received. These addresses are stored in your 'Frequent Contacts' address book. This can sometimes cause problems, such as GroupWise remembering an address that you mistyped in the past. It is therefore recommended that you delete old addresses from your Frequent Contacts book and move the addresses you need to your personal address book in GroupWise. Fortunately GroupWise makes this easy to do, see
http://help.wbs.ac.uk/kb/email/email_client/frequentcontacts/
