New Series of the Human Zoo<img class="wideThumb" src="" style="display: none" />

Regular listeners will be pleased to hear that Nick Chater's radio programme The Human Zoo has returned to BBC Radio 4 for its fifth season.

In The Human Zoo, presenter Michael Blastland joins Nick each week to discuss aspects of psychology and behavioural science that affect our every day lives. Nick's expertise is supplemented by comments from other experts and practitioners from around the country.

The topics being covered in this series include declinism - why everything seemed better in 'the good old days'; risk aversion - why we worry about bad things happening despite the odds; information - and when we ignore it; and persuasion - in particular how it applies to the upcoming general election. You can read an introduction to the episode on declinism on the WBS website.

The new series airs on Tuesdays at 15:30. The first episode aired on Tuesday 13 January, and the series will run for four weeks. If you missed this weeks episode, or would like to catch up on previous series, you can find them all on BBC iPlayer.
