Peter Gayward, the University’s very first Finance Officer, has left a donation to Warwick following his death in 2018.

Peter became Finance Officer – a role now titled Director of Finance – when the University was established in 1965, and worked at Warwick until 1977. Following this he became Director of Finance at the University of Liverpool and was subsequently Registrar at Liverpool.

He was awarded an Honorary Degree by Warwick in recognition of his contribution to the University, and was also awarded an OBE in 1988 for his services to higher education.
