Warwick wins prestigious award for Careers and Skills support of Chinese students

Warwick has been awarded the University Careers Services Best Practice Award by the Global University China Career Union (GUCCU) for the institution’s support of students who are seeking their first graduate role in China.

Warwick demonstrates a strong commitment to employability for international students

Last Friday, 23rd March, Warwick launched a brand new careers fair in Shanghai to support our international student experience. The Fair was held in collaboration with the Universities of Birmingham and Nottingham and adds a further dimension to our wrap-around careers support which students receive from pre-entry through to graduation and beyond.

Warwick hosts Shanghai Jiao Tong University to explore new collaborative opportunities

The University of Warwick has a strong track record of academic collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). Last week academics in the Faculty of Arts and the Centre for Applied Linguistics hosted a workshop with colleagues from SJTU’s Schools of Humanities and Foreign Languages, to further explore opportunities for closer collaboration in both teaching and research.

More electronic materials opened up with new metal-organic framework

More materials for electronic applications could be identified thanks to a global research collaboration conducted by Universities in Brazil, the United Kingdom and France – including researchers at Warwick’s Department of Chemistry. Prof. Richard Walton, Warwick Department of Chemistry said, "Our work was underpinned by Warwick’s strengthening collaborative links with Brazilian universities and our exceptional equipment for materials analysis”

Warwick welcomed a delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology, China on 6 December to discuss existing collaboration in Engineering and the potential to broaden this to other areas.


Warwick announces its 2017-18 UK-Mexico Visiting Chair

Dr. Tara Schiller from WMG has be awarded Warwick’s 2017-18 UK-Mexico Visiting Chair. Dr. Schiller will be undertaking a visit to the University of Guadalajara and the University of Guanajuato in Spring 2018. The visit will allow Dr. Schiller, who specialises in the synthesis and characterisation of polymer and polymer nanocomposites, to share Warwick expertise with Mexican counterparts, better understand the areas of complementarity between the research groups and plan for next steps for collaboration.

Warwick to exchange undergraduate researchers with HKU

The University of Warwick signed an agreement with the University of Hong Kong (HKU) on Friday 8 December which will allow undergraduate researchers at each university to carry out summer projects at the other university from next year.

President of Malta addresses students at The Shard

On 23 November Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, The President of Malta and Honorary Professor in PAIS, gave a lecture entitled ‘Ensuring Equity: The Importance of Wealth Distribution in a Globalised World’.

She called for students to be activists in support of the transformations required for more equitable patterns of wealth distribution.
