Highly Commended Award for former BA Student

In a remarkable achievement, Emily Swallow has been honored with a 'Highly Commended' recognition in the Literature category at the prestigious Global Undergraduate Awards 2023. Emily's outstanding essay, titled “Holy Capitalism Batman! Exploring the Relationship Between Urban Capitalism and the Hard-Boiled Genre,” garnered well-deserved acclaim. The essay was originally crafted for the module 'Twentieth-Century American Literature'

Warwick Alumna is appointed as new Chair of Equality and Human Rights Commission

Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson has been appointed as the new Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission. The EHRC is Britain's independent equality and human rights regulator. It is a United Nations accredited ‘A status’ National Human Rights Institution (NHRI).

Its role is to make the country a fairer place by enforcing and upholding the laws that safeguard everyone’s right to fairness, dignity and respect.

14 Law alumni amongst those honoured with Inaugural Ashton Award in Namibia

The University of Warwick has proudly presented the inaugural Ashton Award to an extraordinary group of alumni who studied at Warwick between 1979 and 1989, in recognition of their collective achievements in shaping the transformation of Namibia. The Ashton Award, named after Baroness Catherine Ashton, the University’s first female Chancellor and a global advocate for diplomacy and justice, celebrates the power of collective alumni action to bring about meaningful change.

Professor Kerry Kirwan appointed new Dean of WMG

Professor Kerry Kirwan has been announced as WMG’s new Dean, effective 1 August 2025. He succeeds Professor Robin Clark, who was appointed Dean of WMG in October 2020. Professor Kirwan comes to the appointment with over 30 years' experience at WMG, University of Warwick. He has been a part of the department since he completed his second-year project as part of his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering.


Celebrating WMG's Class of 2025

Cheers of celebration echoed across campus as staff and students celebrated the achievements of the latest cohort of graduates from WMG, University of Warwick. A highlight of the University calendar and the pinnacle of every student’s academic journey, this year’s summer degree congregations saw 305 students awarded their degrees from WMG.

Professor Khastgir was recognised in the ‘Education, Science and Innovation’ category, for his outstanding research impacts and contributions to India-UK relations. 

Organised by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAULink opens in a new window) UK in collaboration with the British Council in India and the UK Government’s Department for International Trade, the awards recognise Indian students and alumni in the UK who make significant contributions to education, art, culture, and other social sectors.
