AL Kennedy wins Heinrich Heine Prize
Congratulations to AL Kennedy - she has just been awarded the Heinrich Heine Prize by the city of Dusseldorf. The University press release is here.
Her most recent novel, Serious Sweet, was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2016. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and was twice included in the Granta Best of Young British Novelists list. She has won awards including the 2007 Costa Book Award and the Austrian State Prize for International Literature. Her professional website is here.
British Academy Leverhulme Trust grant for Prof Emma Mason
Prof Emma Mason has been awarded a British Academy/Leverhulme Trust small research grant to support her symposium on the poet Elizabeth Jennings in October.

Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence - Dr Mark Storey

David Morley’s Selected Poems, The Invisible Gift (Carcanet), has been chosen as the latest winner of The Poetry Society’s prestigious prize, the Ted Hughes Award for 2015.
Maureen Freely translation of Reckless by Hasan Ali Toptas longlisted
Congratulations to Maureen Freely - her translation of Reckless by Hasan Ali Toptas (Bloomsbury) has been longlisted for the FT/Oppenheimerfunds Emerging Voices award 2016. "Often surreal, occasionally funny, full of awe for humanity and its potential, and never anything but ambitious, Reckless suggests that for Turkey, and for all of us, the truth about what we're capable of isn't very pleasant. Rob Daniel and Jack McGowan win WATE awards
Rob Daniel and Jack McGowan have both won Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence for Postgraduates Who Teach. WATE winners are nominated through a process that gives students, peers, and members of your department the chance to recognise teaching excellence in the PGR community. They were selected from over 100 nominees. Many congratulations.
