Dr Emily Lane-Hill, from Life Sciences, is this year’s Leading Researcher in Neuropathology and Ageing. The award recognises for her outstanding contributions to understanding the ageing brain and her leadership in the neuroscience community.

We are sad to share news of the death of Dr John Thornby, who has been a valued member of our community over many years, most recently as a research student in the School of Education, Learning & Communication Sciences.

We’re establishing a pioneering new research centre dedicated to sustainable electrical chemistry research for new forms of batteries. Thanks to a £10 million gift from an alumnus, the new Hartnoll Centre for Experimental Fuel Technologies will unite experts in chemistry, materials science, physics, and engineering to develop sustainable ways to create and store energy for a cleaner, more resilient future.
