Adrian Hayes, a third year medical student, wrote an essay that was named one of the top three received in the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Forensic Faculty Essay Prize 2011.

Wendy Coy, Head of Human Resources in WMS has been appointed as the new School Secretary of Warwick Medical School. Wendy will take up her role in early February.

Chancellor Richard Lambert has been knighted as part of the Queen's New Year's Honours. This honour comes in recognition of his services to business as Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).

Dr Sarah McMullon has been awarded Best University of Warwick Paediatric Medical Student and Davina Bhardwaj has been awarded Best Neonatal Nurse at Coventry University as part of the Grace Research Fund Awards.
