A student from Connecticut has been awarded theFulbright-Warwick Scholarship for 2010-11 to study at the University. Originally from Glastonbury in Connecticut, Paul Biscegliois a recent graduate from Haverford College, Pennsylvania, and he will pursue aMasters degree in Philosophy and Literature.

It is with great sadness that theUniversity reports the death over the summer of Marc-Antoine Malecot, an undergraduate student within Biomedical Science. Our thoughts are withMarc-Antoine’s friends and family at this time.

The University was saddened to hear the many news reports this weekend on the death of WBS student Linda Norgrove.

Second year Economics student Alison Longman recently completed a 21 mile cross channel swim, raising £10,500 for charity.

Alison set off from Samphire Hoe near Dover at 3.23am on 3 August 2010. She arrived in France at Cap Gris Nez just 11 hours and nine minutes later.

The Students' Union Sabbatical Officers, the 'Sabbs', for 2010-2011 took up their new roles on 1 August and are now making preparations for the year ahead. Earlier in 2010 they were elected by the student body to run and develop the University of Warwick Students' Union and associated activities.
