Professor Sridhar Seetharaman has been selected as the recipient of the Jerry Silver Award for Best Paper 2013 by the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) Metallurgy Technology Division.

Mark P Taylor, Professor of International Finance and Dean of Warwick Business School, was awarded a higher doctorate, the degree of Doctor of Science at the Summer Degree Congregation on 20 July 2012.

The University is saddened to learn of the death of Dr Chris Whitfield, a Research Fellow in Warwick Business School.

At the 2012 Manufacturing Summit on 23 February, Business Secretary Vince Cable announced that Professor Nicholas Crafts, Professor of Economic History and Director of the ESRC Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy Research Centre, will be a member of the Lead Expert Group of the Foresight Project on the Future of Manufacturing.

At the 2012 Manufacturing Summit on 23 February, Business Secretary Vince Cable announced that Professor Anne Green, Institute for Employment Research, University of Warwick, will be a member of the Lead Expert Group of the Foresight Project on the Future of Manufacturing.
