Small Ads Wanted: Border Collie Puppy or Rescue

You need to be logged in to post in this topic.
  1. [Not sure whether this is considered a "small ad" but I thought I might post in case any colleagues might have some leads]

We're looking to adopt/purchase a border collie, but have an elderly cat, so we would ideally be looking for a puppy who could be socialised to live alongside him. If anyone has any leads on reputable and humane breeders, or knows of any docile rescue dogs available, I'd be very grateful!

  2. Hi Bryan, have you tried the rescue centres?  rspca, dogs trust or specific rescue centres for that breed.  Elaine

  3. Hi Elaine,

We've been looking at Border Collie rescue, RSPCA, Dogs trust, etc... for that breed [and indeed, would prefer a rescue to a dog from a breeder]. We need either a very docile female or a young dog that we can socialize with a cat. If you know of any local rescues or hear anything please let us know!

All best (and wishing you lovely holidays as well!),

    Bryan

  4. Hi Bryan, you too, have you tried this rescue centre: http://www.bordercollietrustgb.org.uk/rehoming

  5. My Border Collie x came from the Dogs Trust at Honiley near Warwick.  They are very helpful and make sure the dog (and owner) are OK before they are adopted.  Turnover is very quick (new dogs every Saturday), so worth visiting several times.

    Wendy
