Esther de Perlaky - Student Careers and Skills

Global Contribution

Tell us a bit about your role…

My role is to help connect our students with gaining international graduate roles, internships and work experience – my small team and I cover every country outside of the UK!

Tell us about your award-winning project/work…

In the face of increasing competition for graduate-level jobs in the Asia Pacific region, my team and I have developed an international employability strategy to partner with a comprehensive network of Chinese and multinational employers to deliver a series of events - these help connect our students with employment opportunities beyond the UK.

How does it feel to have won the Global Contribution award?

I am so delighted to be given this award and have to thank Warwick for enabling me and the team to deliver the international initiatives that we have developed. It’s all such a new area, so a huge thank you particularly to Tori and Chris in the team, who are so brilliant in exploring and consistently delivering in this rapidly changing and highly competitive area.

What was a personal highlight for you from the Awards evening on 18 May?

The Awards evening was a fantastic way for Warwick staff to come together and share the diverse ways in which we all contribute to make Warwick what it is.

What would you like to say to the person – or people – who nominated you?

A huge thank you for my nomination - it’s meant so much to me for someone to have taken the time to write the nomination. There are lots of unsung heroes at Warwick, so I’ll be putting in lots of nominations for next year!
