A student from the University of Warwick has been selected for the prestigious Schwartzman Scholarship in Beijing, China.

Coventry and Warwickshire local government leaders, and the city and county’s two universities, are united in their resolve that the concerns, interests, and indeed opportunities for growth in region must have their voice heard in any forthcoming negotiations following the recent EU referendum.

Students and academics from the University of Warwick, working with the Vice-Chancellor’s wife Lynda Thrift, have put together a cookery book as a part of the University’s 50^th anniversary celebrations, Simple Scoff: The Anniversary Edition. The book offers cheap, simple recipes and cooking tips from around the university. It also features illustrations and poems by former students and staff such as BBC media correspondent Torin Douglas.

Key professions such as nursing, teaching and social work are losing thousands of potential recruits as student mothers drop out of higher education due to a lack of support from universities.
