Support for applicants and offer holders

With the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, we know that prospective students from Ukraine and other affected areas will have concerns and questions. We will do all we can to support prospective students to fulfil your ambition to come to Warwick. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep this page up to date with the latest information and advice.

    Sanctuary Scholarships

Applications to the Sanctuary Scholarships are now closed. The next round of applications is likely to be for autumn 2023 entry and more information on this will be available in due course.

    Applications to transfer to Warwick

The University is unable to consider candidates for exemption from part of a degree course where this was undertaken outside the UK. This means it is not possible to apply to transfer into the second year or a subsequent year of a course at Warwick.

    Visa information

Ukrainians are visa nationals and therefore require a visa to enter the UK. Warwick offer holders must either be already resident in the UK or apply for one of the following:

    • A Student visa. Once you have received your CAS number you will be able to apply for your visa. Your CAS will include details of the different documents you will need to prepare for your visa application, including financial evidence. You are eligible to apply for a Sanctuary Scholarship as well as applying for a Student visa if:
      • You are a Ukrainian national and were living in Ukraine on or immediately before 1 January 2022 or
      • You were ordinarily resident in Ukraine and you are currently enrolled in school level education in the UK or another country and can demonstrate your funding or scholarship for your degree programme has been disrupted as a direct consequence of the invasion.

    • A Visitor Visa (up to six months). A Visitor visa can be used by people who need to enter the UK urgently. If you are in the UK on a Visitor visa and cannot return to Ukraine, you can apply to switch to another visa. You will need to meet the requirements of that immigration route. Find out more.
