Speaker Series: Global Challenges, Local Solutions - Co-Creating Pathways for Regional Sustainability

Launching Soon - Click here for updates

The Energy and Sustainable Cities GRP ‘Global Challenges, Local Solutions’ Seminar Series seeks to answer the UN’s recent call to ‘act local to go global’, understanding ‘local’ action with a global outlook as the fundamental first step in addressing global challenges.

The ‘Global Challenges’ covered in this event series range from: the need for a rapid, just and equitable energy transition in the context of climate and ecological emergency, including innovation in governance and technology; to the present and future of sustainable cities, including urban risk and resilience, and economic, environmental and socio-cultural sustainability.
The ‘Global Challenges, Local Solutions’ framework is underpinned by a firm belief that addressing and solving the biggest global problems requires a transdisciplinary approach, crossing the disciplinary boundaries of academia and reaching out to co-create research and problem-solve with non-academic stakeholders across the region.
