ICUR 2018 call for abstracts is now open

the Call for Abstracts for the 6th annual International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) is now open! ICUR is a conference with a difference - held concurrently in Australia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, South Africa, and the United States – ICUR connects conference presenters from across the world with cutting-edge video-conferencing technology.

ICUR is a fantastic opportunity for students to present and discuss their research and can help them to develop both their research and presentation skills. They also have the opportunity to connect with other undergraduate researchers across countries and disciplines, and enhance their CV.

What our past students have said:

‘ICUR was made brilliant by those that attended. They brought with them humour, energy and enough curiosity to reignite a passion for answering the unanswered questions of our time.’

‘I learned the importance of clear communication in research and enhanced my ability to deliver inspiring presentations on captivating topics.’

Students can apply at www.icurportal.com

ABOUT ICUR
ICUR is a two-day event, held during Welcome Week on 25th - 26th September 2018, on central campus at Warwick. It is an exclusively undergraduate forum designed to showcase the best in undergraduate research from across the globe, and to provide a supportive environment for talented young scholars, many of whom are doing and presenting research for the first time

The conference is multidisciplinary and all undergraduate students who have research to share are encouraged to apply. Students are invited to submit abstracts of 250 words for either a fifteen minute spoken presentation or a poster presentation. We welcome submissions from all disciplines and perspectives.

WHY ICUR?

    1. Internationalise their university experience by presenting on the world stage.
      1. Understand how to articulate the importance of their research across disciplinary boundaries.
        1. Develop an appreciation of how local specificities or global imperatives shape their research area.

        HOW TO APPLY
Its easy to apply, students can submit an abstract using the online form at www.icurportal.com

        ELIGIBILITY
All undergraduate students are eligible to apply. We welcome research projects which are the outcome of dissertations, course work, group projects, summer internships or independent research. Students are also welcome to submit work that they have developed with a member of staff. SELECTION
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel and students may be asked to revise their abstract prior to final selection. Whilst this is a competitive process, we aim to be as inclusive as possible.

Abstracts will be reviewed against the following criteria:

          1. The project is a research project undertaken at undergraduate level which makes an interesting contribution to the field.
            1. There is a clear methodology which has been appropriately used.
              1. References show an understanding of recent developments in the field.
