The Faculty of Science at the University of Warwick would like to invite you to join us for an Industry Day where the Physical Science Departments (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and WMG) will showcase the research capability that the Faculty is eager to direct towards your research development and productivity challenges.
There are four main goals for the day:
(a) to invite industry to Warwick to inform us of their challenges and research needs, and for us to listen and gauge if our expertise and capability can be aligned with industrial requirements,
(b) to raise the awareness of potential industrial partners of what we do, providing networking opportunities for both industry and academics,
(c) to enhance the level of academic-industry engagement across Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and WMG in order to boost recognised REF Impact,
(d) to have these Science Faculty Departments and our industrial invitees collectively addressed by Innovate UK representatives regarding upcoming major funding initiatives, including the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.
The plan is for a short welcome from the University Executive, then Innovate UK will outline some of the existing and new funding opportunities for collaborative industry/academic projects. This would be followed by a number of short (~15 minute) talks from industry representatives describing their current and future production and R&D needs, and how academic collaboration may augment these activities. If you feel that you would like to address this meeting with a 15 minute presentation outlining your company and its strategic vision please volunteer and let us know; we’ll do our best to accommodate as many industry speakers as possible.
