EPSRC institutional funding is available to ’..support the research community in realising the potential of these opportunities, working across disciplines and institutions.’ EPSRC are explicit that ’ all activities muct include an element of multi-institution working and community building’

See the document on the right hand side for further information about this call

Deadline for submission of expression of interest, 5th August.

This call is focussed towards developing collaborations with the new Sir Henry Royce institute in Manchester and will bring together academics from Warwick with partners from Manchester in any one of our 5 theme areas in the Materials GRP, Functional Materials, Structural Materials, Biomaterials, Nano to Macro Characterisation, Multiscale Modelling
This call will also be closely aligned with 2 of the 4 themes for the Sir Henry Royce Institute, in the areas of Functional Materials and Soft Materials.

It is hoped that this will help build and also secure Warwick academics collaboration with the research of the Institute and also provide a mechanism for cohesion of Warwick academics within the membership of the Institute. We expect this to be achieved through a joint application by the team to a research council or other funding body.

The budget for this call is £60k and we expect to fund 2 projects. As a guide we propose this will support funding for a 6 month postdoc and some consumables and travel allowance.

Note that funding cannot be used for capital equipment items, business case or proposal writing, single institution bids or estates or indirect costs.

Interviews will be held on the 13th August and the Warwick academic must be available to attend on this date

As part of the funding allocation you will be expected to organise a workshop/discussion group during Materials week

All funding must be spent by the 31st March 2016 and at the end of the project a short report will be required
