Cancer Diagnosis

The Cancer Research Unit is a newly established structure to further the development of cancer research at the University of Warwick. The main aims are:

  • Co-ordinate multidisciplinary cancer research across the University of Warwick
  • Facilitate cancer collaborations with our NHS partners at University Hospitals Birmingham and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwick
  • Build collaborative research programmes across the West Midlands
  • Develop links to local communities with the aim of improving cancer outcomes across the region and more widely

Research at the CRU focuses on five key objectives:

  • Build an understanding of cancer through multidisciplinary research
  • Facilitate the integration of systems biology with translational cancer research
  • Introduce more effective diagnostic tools
  • Initiate early stage cancer trials and enhance our current late phase trial portfolio
  • Develop the cancer research leaders of tomorrow
