As part of its National Infrastructure Delivery Plan 2016-2021, the Infrastructure and Ports Authority of the British Government has announced a £138 million collaboratorium for research in infrastructure and cities. According to the plan, this investment will connect multiple communities of researchers working in areas such as clean water supplies, transport, social interaction and waste management, to develop an integrated view of infrastructure needs, development and delivery.

The ESRC IAA is offering 2-3 awards of up to £8,000 to build cross-faculty Impact Networks on research themes significant to current social science debate. Networks must involve a minimum of two Social Science departments and bring together academics from outside existing research groups.
