Membership of IOSH or the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health means I am a member of the world’s largest health and safety membership body which works towards maintaining and improving workplace health and safety standards worldwide. In my role as a Technical Support Manager in the School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School. This help both myself and all the members of our technical support team keep informed of the current Health and Safety practices and to implement these practices into our day to day activities to help maintain and improve the safety in our laboratories. Membership of IOSH gives me access to a wide number of accredited training courses at a number of different institutions within the UK, and a wide number of experienced members I can contact for help or advice if required. All of this helps my personal development plan and is useful in my development of my role within our joint schools.
