Step 1

Book a slot

Request a date to collect your laundry from us and drop your laundry to us the day before your confirmed pick up date.

Use our booking calendar to request a pick up date. Your booking is only confirmed once we approve your request. You'll hear from us by email.

We operate on a first come, first served basis – with limited availability. The more in advance you place your request, the more chance of booking the date you want.

When you receive an invite to drop your laundry with us, please accept the request as soon as possible to guarantee your place on that day.

Step 2

Pack your laundry

Pack your items into one of our reusable bags – this ensures that we cannot cram too many items into the machine to prevent it from working properly.

On the first occasion you visit us you will be asked to purchase one of our re-usable laundry bags at a cost of £3.00. These bags help us to ensure that the optimum load size to wash is used. Sample bags can be viewed in the launderette itself aswell as in your Residence Hub. Use one bag per service wash load.

There's no need to count or weigh your items. If they fit in the bag, they will fit into the machines.

Step 3

Drop off and payment

Visit us at the Rootes Launderette – before 10:30 on the day before your approved service wash collection date. This gives us plenty of time to complete the days washes for everyone.

We shall quickly check to mark you as having dropped items off with us – so our records are up to date.

You will be asked to pay for the service when dropping items with us. All major payment cards as well as apple pay and android pay.

Step 4

Collect your laundry

We shall place your items through a standard wash cycle – then a standard tumble dryer cycle. We'll also fold your items and place them into your bag for when you come and collect them.

We'll notify you by email when your laundry is ready to collect and we'll store them securely for when you return.

Please ensure that you have collected items before 16:00 from Monday to Thursday and 15:30 on Friday.

If you are unable to collect your items before we close, we'll retain them securely for you to collect next day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your opening hours? How much does a service wash cost? How do I book a service wash?

You simply need to book an available slot online using our booking system. Don't worry about the specific time slot, but the date you request is your preferred collection date for you to collect your laundry.

Once you have a confirmation email, please head to the Rootes Laundrette to purchase a laundry bag at a cost of £3.00 which you can use for any future service washes you may like to book.

Once you've filled up your laundry bag, drop it off to the team at the Rootes Laundrette the day before your chosen collection date. You can make payment when you drop off your laundry and we'll notify you when you can come and collect your laundry.

Don't worry about the time of your booking slot - once you have confirmation from our team that your service wash is booked, you can drop off your laundry anytime from 09:00 the day before your booked collection date. In order to ensure that your laundry can be serviced and ready for your to collect on the date you requested, please bring it to us the day before your booked collection date. Earlier drop offs are encouraged.

Should you be unable to drop your laundry bag to us the day before your booked collection date, we are unable to guarantee that we will be able to turnaround your request in time.

How do I pack my items?

You'll need to use one of our standard sized laundry bags. We will be able to wash/dry/fold the contents of one bag per booking.

If you wish to wash more items you are required to purchase additional slots. This is to ensure that the washing machine drum is not overloaded, which may lead to poor quality results or even damaged garments.

Each laundry bag costs £3.00 and can be purchased from the launderette in advance. You can then re-use this bag for future bookings.

When will my laundry be ready to collect?

We'll send you an email to confirm when your order has been completed. If you are unable to collect your items on the day of your booked collection, we shall retain them securely for you to collect next day.

Please do collect as soon as possible so that our laundry space is free to service other requests. We cannot accept requests from friends to collect your belongings.
