Our Sustainability Committee
Our sustainability committee
With representatives from a range of departments, the group are responsible for promoting and implementing our sustainability initiatives towards our long-term goals.
We are also part of the Platinum Inner Circle, whereby we regularly meet with other venues to discuss sustainability challenges, experiences and solutions.

Andrew Taylor - Head of Conferences
"It is no longer difficult for us to see the consequences of doing nothing to protect our planet, our families, friends and customers are all being effected and we all need to responsibility. We can all make a difference through the decisions we make personally and at work. By using our resources more carefully and adopting sustainable practices we can reduce waste, carbon and costs, protecting our environment for the future of all."

Clive Singleton - Head of Conferences and Event Catering
"Sustainability is important to me for many reasons, both in my work role and personally. I feel that with our teams and customers we can make a number of the changes required and at the same time keep evolving. In doing this I hope that we can make a difference, whilst influencing others to equally build into their own work / personal lives.
Simply put another way: we all have a responsibility and it’s the right thing to do, we have to believe we can make the difference."

Aaron Dennis - Operations Manager Food and Beverage
"I have a chance to make a real difference and I want to take it. Food production, logistics, service and waste can make such a difference to our planet and serving up to 82,500 meals a month means we have a real opportunity to impact positively, educate and advise our guests we should. My children are incredibly privileged to have a grandmother who at 72 years of age planted 740 trees for them, being able to create an understanding and compassion for the planet as such a young age makes me so happy. "

Justine Meek - Business Development Manager
"Sustainability is a core value for me, driven by a desire to protect the planet, and as a mum this passion feels even more personal. Working at a venue, I have seen first-hand how impactful sustainability can be and how we can influence how our clients organise events by reshaping the way we do business. Achieving platinum accreditation is a proud milestone that reflects our team’s dedication to environmental responsibility. This achievement signifies our commitment to sustainability, and I am excited to continue driving positive change in the events industry, ensuring we make a difference for our future generations"

Mark Ralph - Head of Food
"Sustainability within our sector represents an essential transition towards a more accountable and robust future. By implementing sustainable food strategies, such as minimising food waste and making informed choices when sourcing food, we can move towards safeguarding food resources and lessen our environmental footprint"

Rupinder Cremins - Marketing Manager
"Sustainability is vital for protecting our planet and ensuring the wellbeing of future generations. At Warwick Conferences, we are committed to minimising our environmental impact. We strive to operate sustainably while equipping our delegates with the resources they need to support sustainable practices."

Pete Gardner - Food and Beverage Assistant
"Lifestyle is now a sustainable choice. In my life and work I try to practice what I preach. I have been involved in groups and campaigns through my personal life. I believe within my role I have the opportunity to assist further in where we go. In fact I was the first in conferences to take on the driving of our first electric vehicles, it’s just the start. "

Ted McGowan - Sales and Events Manager
"In my role, sustainability now more frequently sits at the heart of every choice I make. By championing green suppliers and low-carbon production, I help our clients tell a story that resonates with today’s conscious audience. This focus sparks creative event concepts, strengthens our brand’s credibility, and deepens client loyalty. Ultimately, driving sustainable practices isn’t just good for the planet—it’s how we build lasting relationships and leave a positive legacy."

Nathan Wright - Kitchen Porter
"It’s been great to have the chance to join the group. Being part of this is allowing me to take part, share thoughts and start to input on how I can make a difference and at the same time start to spread the word and look at other things within the kitchen areas. I am looking forward to see how this will develop and change."

Bradley Ell - Senior Conference Assistant
"At the University of Warwick, sustainability is embedded in the core responsibilities of a Senior Conference Assistant. In this role, sustainability means more than environmental awareness — it involves promoting responsible resource use, supporting eco-friendly practices during events, and encouraging others to do the same. Senior Conference Assistants lead by example, helping to reduce waste, conserve energy, and ensure operations align with the University’s wider commitment to sustainability. By integrating sustainable thinking into day-to-day activities, they contribute to a greener campus and demonstrate the university’s dedication to building a responsible future. "
