Doctoral Values Project

Summary: The project team set out to discover what truly matters to the postgraduate researcher community. Through online and in-person focus groups, they identified five core values which reflect PGR experiences and priorities.

Student Voice Workshops

Department: Engineering

Date: Ongoing

Summary: A series of workshops and focus groups were held for students in the School of Engineering, to gather student voice on three key themes: personal tutoring, creating stronger communities and improving the student experience.

Making Reasonable Adjustments More Student-Centred

Department: Education Studies

Date: Spring 2024 (ongoing)

Summary: A research project evaluating the proposal to make Reasonable Adjustment documents more student-centred.

Exploring Pass/Fail Awarding Gaps

Department: Warwick Medical School (WMS)

Date: Spring 2024 (ongoing)

Summary: Using action research, WMS captured the experiences of students who failed exams at the first sit and proceeded to pass their resits.

Analysis of Data on Learning Experience of Black Students

Department: Sociology

Date: 2023-24

Summary: A qualitative research project on the experiences of students across the department, including black students.

Understanding PGT data

Department: Warwick Business School (WBS)

Date: Summer 2023 to summer 2024

Summary: A data review exercise which aims to identify specific attributes that may impact awards at postgraduate (taught) level among WBS students from widening participation backgrounds.

Disability Data Dashboard

Department: Disability Services

Date: June 2023 to present

Summary: This data tool aims to enable Warwick staff to gain a deeper understanding of their student cohort.

Listening to Departures Programme

Department: Chemistry

Date: Ongoing

Summary: A unique project which seeks to understand the reasons why students withdraw from their Chemistry studies.

Student Research Projects

Department: School for Cross-faculty Studies

Date: 2022/23

Summary: Students were hired to carry out research on priority areas; decolonisation, trans- and non-binary-inclusive teaching, and addressing awarding gaps, creating new resources to support staff and students in the school and advising on future areas of need for further research.
