Community Safety

Who We Are

The Community Safety department is a team of individuals dedicated to protecting the safety and security of everyone who lives, works and studies at the University.

We have an on-Campus presence 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide pastoral support to everyone within our community.

Additionally, we are responsible for helping to protect the University's physical assets and buildings to ensure that the quality of teaching and research, that Warwick prides itself on, is not impacted by any nefarious activity.

What We Do

Our team provides a wide range of support and services to the campus community that fall into four main categories:

How You Can Help

Community safety is everybody's responsibility and you can do a lot to help protect yourselves and others while at Warwick. Visit our safety at Warwick page for tips on keeping secure on campus.

Reporting suspicious activity, security concerns and inappropriate behaviours through the relevant channels is an excellent place to start.

We want to hear your feedback, send our team your thoughts via our feedback form to help us to improve our service and evolve as a department.

News and events

Welcome to Warwick! Find everything you need for when you arrive on our Welcome to Warwick pages.

Meet the team at our many pop-up stands across campus during the academic year. Look out for the blue Community Safety gazebo.

Planning on cycling to explore the area? Don't forget to register your bike with BikeRegisterLink opens in a new window to help keep your bike safe and be sure to get yourself a solid D-Lock to deter would be thieves. We recommend locks with the Sold SecureLink opens in a new window award. When the nights draw closer and it becomes dark sooner, don't forget to get some bike lights or reflectors to make sure you are visible while cycling in the dark.

If you live off campus and need to walk home, be sure to stick to well lit, populated areas. Take a look at our local area map which shows the most well lit routes into the local area. If you are travelling further, consider taking the bus or a taxi to get home quickly and safely, while staying warm. You can find lots of useful information for travelling to and from campus on our travelling to university page. For taxi-specific information, please see our taxi webpage.
