  • Term 2: 34%
  • Term 3: 34%

For more information see the additional detail below:

Postgraduate Taught

If you are using a Postgraduate Loan (PGL) from the Student Loans Company (SLC) to fund, or partially fund, your studies you can request to pay in instalments that reflect the schedule of your loan payments. This is usually:

  • Term 1: 33%
  • Term 2: 34%
  • Term 3: 34%

To request this instalment arrangement you must complete the PGL arrangement form and provide your loan approval letter from the SLC by the 31st December each academic year. Your loan approval letter must clearly show your name, address and the payment dates and amounts of your SLC loan. Please note that requests submitted after this date will not be considered.

If your PGL does not match the full value of your fees you are strongly advised to make adequate financial provision before you commence your study. Full payment is expected for each instalment within 3 days of receiving your loan payment. Failure to make full payment on time may result in us withdrawing the instalment agreement.

If you have an approved PG Loan and wish to make automated payment by Direct Debit then please check to ensure you will receive the funding before the DD instalment is collected from your account to avoid any bank charges for failed payments that your bank may charge. Direct Debit payments would normally be collected on these dates:

2nd October 2023
8th January 2024
22nd April 2024

Please refer back to your loan confirmation document (can also be accessed by logging onto your Student Finance England account) and check you will have the funds in your account prior to these dates or otherwise pay your fees via another method of payment through your student e-vision account where UK Bank Transfers and Debit or Credit Card payments are possible using our payment partner Flywire which you will be directly linked into through your payment options.

Postgraduate Research

There are no fixed term dates for postgraduate research students. If you are using a PGL to fund a postgraduate research course, the loan will be disbursed in 3 equal instalments annually based on your start date in 2023/24. Given this, the University may agree to a special 3 equal instalment arrangement for your tuition fees to reflect the PGL funding schedule.

To request this special payment arrangement you must complete the PGL arrangement form and provide your loan approval letter from the SLC within 4 weeks from the loan approval date. Your loan approval letter must clearly show your name, address and the payment dates and amounts of your SLC loan. Please note that requests submitted outside the timescale will not be considered.

Your PGL may not be sufficient to cover your fees so you are strongly advised to make adequate financial provision before you commence your study. You are expected to make payment in full for each instalment within 3 days of receiving your PGL payment including any shortfall between your PGL and the fees due.

If you fail to pay in accordance with this revised payment arrangement the University reserves the right to withdraw this arrangement and require that you make payments according to the standard termly payment arrangement.
