Recent Changes to the University Calendar
Revision to Regulation 28
The Council at its meeting held on 17 February 2011 approved revision to Regulation 28 governing Intellectual Property Rights, on the recommendation of the Senate.
Revision to Ordinance 12
Following approval of the Privy Council on 15 October 2009 to make revisions to its Charter and Statutes, the awarding powers of the title of Emeritus Professor or Reader was transferred from the Council to the Senate (change applied to online University Calendar on 01 December 2010).
Revision to Regulation 34
The Council at its meeting held on 17 February 2011 reported revisions to Regulation 34 governing the Determination of Fitness to Practise for the PGCE, approved by the Chair of the Council on behalf of the Council, on the recommendation of the Steering Committee on behalf of the Senate.
The revision provided the facility for a Fitness to Practice Committee, finding a PGCE student unfit to practice, to recommend that the student’s registration be transferred to a non-practising course.
Revisions to Regulation 34
The Council at its meeting held on 26 November 2010 reported revisions to Regulation 34 governing the Determination of Fitness to Practise for the MB ChB, approved by the Chair of the Council on behalf of the Council, on the recommendation of the Steering Committee on behalf of the Senate.
The revisions were concerned with the constitution of the Fitness to Practise Committee and Panel which can be drawn upon primarily for appeals cases concerning the MBChB in the Warwick Medical School.
Honorary Degrees
In October 2009, the Privy Council approved changes to the University Statutes to transfer awarding power for Honorary Degrees from the Council to the Senate.
The Council approved at its meeting held on 14 October 2010 the associated revisions to Ordinance 14 governing the Honorary Degrees Committee, on the recommendation of the Senate.
