Student Fees (applicable in the academic year 2007-2008)
Annual fees cover charges for registration, tuition and examination (but not re-examination) and, in the case of categories 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 below, include a contribution towards the cost of student amenities. They do not include fees for accommodation, meals and certain other miscellaneous items. Payment by direct debit and credit card is also possible (details on request). On degrees including a mandatory year in industry a reduced fee is payable. All fees are due in full at the start of the academic year/course. Details on how to pay fees can be found in the Student Finance Guide. In the academic year 2007-2008, the University will charge new Home (UK) and EU students tuition fees of £3070 for all full-time undergraduate courses (with the exception of 2+2 courses).

Undergraduate tuition fees
Any students who have paid their tuition fees and subsequently withdrawn may be entitled to a refund calculated on the following basis.
- Students who withdraw within the first two weeks of the academic year will be entitled to a full refund of the sum they have paid.
- For students withdrawing after week 2 of the first term, fees payable will be calculated pro rata to the number of weeks of the course the student has attended of the 30-week academic year. Fees will be payable for any week the student has been in attendance and students withdrawing part way through a week will be charged for that complete week.
If a sponsor has paid fees on behalf of a student who subsequently withdraws, and a refund is due, this refund will be paid to the sponsor.
-
Postgraduate tuition fees
Fees for postgraduates registered for research degrees or taught courses with a specified period of study will be calculated on the basis of the number of months of registration during an academic year. For this purpose part of a calendar month will be counted as a full calendar month, so for example a postgraduate student withdrawing within one calendar month of registration would be charged one-twelfth of the annual fee.
There are two exceptions to the above:
- Where fees are charged annually but a course is fully modular (e.g. PGME), fees will be charged for the number of modules a student has attended in the academic year prior to withdrawal. Students will be charged for each module they have started prior to withdrawal.
- Where fees are charged on a modular basis, students will be charged for the number of modules attended in the academic year prior to withdrawal. Students will be charged for a complete module for each module they have started prior to their withdrawal.
