The Council at its meeting held on 23 February 2012 approved revisions to the following Regulations, on the recommendation of the Senate;

Regulation 4 governing Annual Review by the Academic Staff Committee - this amendment results from the approval of the Senate that the nomenclature of Reader as opposed to Associate Professor (Reader) be reinstated.

Regulation 8 governing Regulation of First Degrees - this amendment revises the MB ChB assessment regime commencing with the 2011 cohort.

Regulation 28 governing the Patenting and Commerical Exploitation of Research Results - this regulation has been re-written and renamed as governing Intellectual Property Rights, to formalise existing University practices which are not presently codified and to provide greater clarity on ownership without changing the fundamental position of the University.
