Terms of Reference
1) To advise and report to the Board of the Faculty and the Board of Graduate Studies on matters relating to postgraduate teaching and assessment in the Faculty.
2) To advise the Board of the Faculty on nominations of members of the Faculty to serve on University Committees related to matters of postgraduate study.
3) To consider all matters referred to it by the Board of the Faculty and the Board of Graduate Studies.
4) To carry out a detailed initial scrutiny of all proposals for new or restructured postgraduate degree courses in the Faculty and to advise the Board of Graduate Studies on these proposals.
5) To consider and approve, on behalf of the Board of the Faculty, all proposals for new and amended postgraduate modules within the Faculty.
6) To consider and approve minor changes in methods of assessment for individual students.
Reporting Structure
The Graduate Studies Committee reports to the Board of the Faculty of Science.
