Fire Action Notice
In-Hours and Out-of-Hours response to a fire and the fire alarm system at the University of Warwick’s Wellesbourne campus.
ON DISCOVERING OR SUSPECTING A FIRE: |

In-Hours (0830hrs – 1700hrs Monday to Friday) | Out-of-Hours (1700hrs – 0830hrs Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday) |
1. Report the fire and its location on any extension (9) 222; | 1. Dial (024765) 22222 from any extension or the Caretaker's telephone, ask for the Fire Brigade and give the location of the fire. 2. Stay in a place of safety for the attending fire party and inform them that you discovered the fire and of any related concerns | 2. Make yourself known to the fire brigade and Response Team members on their arrival at main reception |
Unless instructed otherwise by the attending fire party members and, proceed to the designated fire assembly point; | |
DO NOT delay to collect personal belongings. DO NOT use lifts. DO NOT return to the building until notified it is safe to do so by Response Team. | |
ON HEARING THE CONTINUOUS FIRE ALARM: |

1. Confirm the fire alarm activation to site reception (9) 222 | 1. Confirm the fire alarm activation to Main Campus Security Gatehouse on (024765) 22222 |
2. Inform the attending fire party member of any related concerns; | 2. Make yourself known to the Response Team members or fire brigade on their arrival at main Reception. |
3. You must go immediately by the shortest safe route to your designated fire assembly point; | 3. You must not return to the building until instructed to do so by the incident controller. |

ON HEARING AN INTERMITTENT ALARM: |

1. Prepare to leave the building - collect personal belongings, shut down any operations which could be a hazard if left unattended. | |
2. Do not enter a building where bells are ringing continuously. | |
3. If told to leave or bells ring continuously, evacuate by the nearest exit following the instruction relating to response to a continuous fire alarm. |
