This number, also known as an SD number, is located on your recent benefit statement or for a recent joiner on the member certificate that NHS Pensions issued when you joined the Scheme. If you cannot locate this information, then please email hr.pensions@warwick.ac.uk.
You may be eligible to join the scheme if you are employed at the Warwick Medical School and contributed to the NHS Pension scheme within the last 12 months.
Your employee contributions are based on a percentage of your pensionable pay. Contributions rates currently range from 5.2% to 12.5%. Further information is available at Cost of being in the Scheme.
Contribution rates are set based on the pensionable pay range.
You can view your pension benefits and savings by logging into your My NHS Pension account. Details on how to register for the My NHS Penson account can be found at Getting an estimate of your pension under the ‘Accessing your Annual Benefit Statement’ section.
Please update your address on Success Factors. The University of Warwick, will update your new address to the NHS, when they submit your renewal data each year. You can also view your personal details on your My NHS Pension account. Further details on registering for an online account are available at My NHS Pension | NHSBSA.
In most circumstances, you can apply to transfer benefits into the NHS Pension Scheme. Any pension transferred in will be added to your benefits in the NHS Pension Scheme. Further information can be found at Transferring into the Scheme.
Information on how to nominate your beneficiaries can be found at Nominations.
If you go on maternity leave you will pay pension contributions based on the actual pay you receive, whilst the University will pay contributions based on your notional pay. i.e. the salary that would have been paid but for the maternity leave.
Upon leaving the University and after your last payment from payroll, the HR Pensions Team will inform NHS Pensions that you have left. They will write to you about your benefits. Generally, your benefits will remain in the Scheme until you claim them on retirement. Alternatively, you may be able to transfer them to an alternative arrangement. This will be detailed in the correspondence you receive from the Scheme Administrator. Further information can be found at Leaving or taking a break from the scheme.
