VPN access request process
If you do not already have access to the VPN, and require access, you will need to complete this access request self-service form on our Service Portal: https://warwick.service-now.com/sp?id=sc_cat_item&sys_id=2b153b64696c9100da143a11648fa8aa
Once the form is submitted, an identity check must be made before access is granted. You will be contacted via your University of Warwick Microsoft Teams account to arrange the check, via a video call to show a valid photo ID (eg. driving licence or passport).
- The Staff VPN service is available only to Staff and PGR (Postgraduate Researchers) students.
- Undergraduate and PGT (Postgraduate Taught) students have access to the Student VPN (but not access to the Staff VPN).
- When working from home (WFH) you should connect your managed PC to the VPN regularly, to ensure the best performance of your managed computer. This will help to synchronise your offline files, application and group policy updates and provide a similar experience as when working on campus.
- The service works over a wireless or wired internet connection.
- The VPN is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except during planned maintenance.
- The maximum continuous connection is 12 hours.
- As part of the Microsoft Authenticator Login (MFA), you will need to use your usercode@live.warwick.ac.uk address to log-in to the VPN.
- The VPN is NOT available from the Residential Network
