Release notes for web applications
Tabula 2019.12.1 released
We released Tabula 2019.12.1 on Thursday 5th December 2019. This version largely consists of work on the Tabula API and bug fixes, including:
- You can now record acute outcomes against the 'Other' mitigating circumstances assessment type. This was already possible for the 'Assignments' assessment type.
Tabula 2019.11.4 released
We released Tabula 2019.11.4 on Friday 29th November 2019. In this version:
- We added a 'course occurrence' filter to exam grids. This is for courses where students can begin at different points within an academic year, for example.
- The maximum size of an assignment submission that can be checked for plagiarism by Turnitin has increased to 100MB (see Turnitin's file requirements). It was previously 40MB.
- When the assignment setting ‘Automatically check submissions for plagiarism’ is enabled, submissions are now sent to Turnitin when they are received. They were previously sent when the assignment closed. The change is to avoid delays in processing submissions now that there is a default assignment close time of 12 noon on a working day.
- For mitigating circumstances panels, the chair, secretary and members are now notified by email when:
- The panel is created
- Someone is added
- Someone is removed
- The panel name, date, time or location is changed
- Mitigating circumstances submissions are added
- We fixed a bug affecting the adding of notes to mitigating circumstances submissions. At the same time, we made it possible to upload a file attachment as a note without including any text in the Notes box.
- Exam grids now contain a key to the codes used for mitigating circumstances gradings. The codes are A (Weak / Mild), B (Moderate), C (Severe) or R (Rejected). For acute mitigation, which will already have been taken into account, the codes become A0, B0, C0 and R0. The key is included in the onscreen preview, and in the downloadable versions of the grid.
- We fixed a bug causing attendance reports to show inaccurate personal tutor details.
- We fixed the preview text in notification emails. Preview text is the beginning of each message, displayed in your list of messages in certain email applications, such as Outlook and Gmail.
SiteBuilder 2.426 released
We released SiteBuilder 2.426 on Friday 22nd November 2019. In this version:
- It's now possible to delete all submissions to a form that were received up to and including a specified date. To do this, view recent submissions and select the button 'Delete all before date'.
- We changed online payment forms so that when a user makes a submission where there is nothing to pay, they are taken directly to the form's 'success page'. Previously, users were taken to the online payment service regardless.
- We restored the ability to choose a time, as well as a date, when you set a news item to expire.
Tabula 2019.11.3 released
We released Tabula 2019.11.3 on Thursday 21st November 2019. In this version:
- Small group attendance reports now include students subsequently removed from the group membership. A bug was causing the omission of such students.
- We made some changes to avoid mitigating circumstances submissions becoming 'orphaned'. For departments or sub-departments with existing submissions, it's now impossible to:
- Disable mitigating circumstances in the department settings.
- Remove the last Mitigating Circumstances Officer.
- Exam grids now show details of affected assessments for students with mitigating circumstances.
- Mitigating circumstances submissions now include the mitigation grading code used on exam grids. These are A (mild), B (moderate), C (severe) or R (rejected). The codes are shown in the submission alongside the text description of the grading.
- When adding permissions or assigning roles, UG and PGT students are generally no longer suggested. This is because UGs and PGTs are ineligible for department-wide roles such as Senior Tutor or Module Manager. They can still, however, be a personal tutor, marker or small group teaching event tutor.
- We improved the formatting of email notifications.
- We also improved the display of notifications in the activity stream.
SiteBuilder 2.425 released
We released SiteBuilder 2.425 on Monday 18th November 2019. In this version:
- We fixed the filters () available when viewing form submissions. The filter options were missing from the pop-up box that appears when you select a filter.
- We made the date picker in forms easier to use when changing the month.
