Communicate your Research: Choosing Where to Publish (Arts and Social Sciences)
Overview:
What are the options for communicating your research in a digital environment? How is publishing evolving and how do you choose the most appropriate platform for your target audience? This series of workshops will explore some of the options available to help you make informed choices when planning your publication strategy.
The interactive session is aimed principally at researchers in the Faculties of Arts & Social Sciences. Although you will be encouraged you to think about a range of options for publishing your research, the focus will be on publishing books and academic journal articles. As well as practical guidance on how to choose the right journal or publisher for your work, there will also be an opportunity to explore a range of tools to help you evaluate journals and to find out more about the book publishing process and how to create a book proposal. You will also consider how ‘alternative metrics’ might help you to track engagement with your publications and start to develop a priority list of publication venues.
University of Warwick Research Active Staff (staff on Research-focussed, Teaching-focussed and Research & Teaching Contracts) and PhD Students.
