Hints and Tips
- Give yourself time to complete the application form.
- Your application is our first impression of you so make sure you answer all questions fully.
- Your CV should be up-to-date and you should tailor it to this scheme so you can make a great first impression.
- Use this process to demonstrate your knowledge of Higher Education, the University of Warwick, our strategy and our values.
- For our assessment centre and interview stages, consider in advance why this scheme is right for you and why you are right for us, be prepared to give us examples of your achievements to date and remember that we’re looking to see how well you can interact with others too.
- Most importantly, be yourself. It’s the real you that we’d like to get to know.
Stage 1: Application Form
Please complete this form to apply for a place on our scheme.
We’ll ask you for some information about you, a copy of your CV as well as asking you to answer the following questions:
- Why are you interested in a career in Higher Education and, specifically, with the University of Warwick?
- Why are you interested in this scheme?
- How will you contribute to the delivery of the University’s strategic priorities?
- What makes you stand out from other applicants?
- Which work experience role have you enjoyed the most? Tell us why.
- Which work experience role have you enjoyed the least? Tell us why.
- What else should we know about you?
We’ll also ask you to tell us how you would manage the following scenario:
You are a Graduate Trainee on the University of Warwick Graduate Scheme. You are coming to the end of your first placement and are keen to make a good impression. You’ve spent several months working on an important project. In 30 minutes’ time you are due to share your project data with the Registrar. You suddenly realise that you have made a fundamental error in your calculations.
How will you approach this problem?
Stage 2: Assessment Centre
The online assessment centre will give you an opportunity to show us your potential. It also gives us a chance to get to know you better and for you to find out more about us. We’re likely to include a group exercise and a presentation task.
Stage 3: Interview
This final stage of the interview process is a panel interview. This stage gives us an opportunity to understand your strengths, aspirations and how you might manage different situations.
