RCT blog

This blog is an opportunity for students to read and share stories and experiences of residential life at university. It’s a space to find out more about how students before you have navigated their residential journey; what worked and also what didn’t, things you need to know and things you may not have thought about!

Our mission is to create a positive study and workplace wellbeing environment and a space for wellbeing conversations and contemplation.

We strive to build a community where wellbeing is a shared value and responsibility.

We treat everyone and every voice with respect and the right to remain anonymous.

If you have something you think would be useful to discuss or would like to contribute to the blog about your own experiences, please use our submission form to submit your blog, article or to give a suggestion for a future topic.

Christmas Break - who to contact

As I'm sure many of us know, the Festive period can be a difficult time. Here at the Residential Community Team, we understand that many students are remaining on campus and we have set up support for the festive period. While we will be manning the RCT hub until the 23rd December, after this we will have Residential Community Assistants living on campus who can be contactable via telephone. There are 2 telephone numbers depending on where you live. This telephone number will be live from the 23rd December at 0930, to the 3rd Jan at 0900.

These are as follows:

Zone 1: AV/JM, Bluebell, Rootes, Whitefields, International House and Westwood - 07884733042

Zone 2: Claycroft, Cryfield, Benefactors, HB and LS, Sherbourne and Tocil - 07881267519

Please call the number which corresponds with your Residence.

As a reminder, we can support with flatmate conflict or issues, homesickness, and concerns around noise or other issues occurring in your residence.
