Advance HE have introduced a new process for renewing an Athena Swan award. Award holders are able to reapply using a streamlined process which focuses on progress made against their initial action plans and their future priorities. This means awardees will do not have to make a full submission when applying to retain their award.

Dr Ruth Gilligan, Advance HE's Assistant Director - Equality Charters, said,

“The new renewal application process is essentially an audit on progress and intent. This approach means that we have been able to reduce the resubmission requirement by about 50%, which I am sure awardees will welcome".
