Documenting menopause related absence on SuccessFactors
The menopause will affect most of our community at some point in their life, either directly by experiencing menopause symptoms, or indirectly through its potential impact on colleagues, partners, family members or friends.
For some of our colleagues, menopause symptoms can be long-term and persistent, impacting their daily lives and working environments.
To support colleagues impacted by menopause symptoms, we have introduced a new field into SuccessFactors to enable any menopause-related absence to be logged if appropriate.
- The new field can be found in the ‘Request Time Off’ section of SuccessFactors, under the ‘Sickness Absence’ option of Time Type.
- If absence is due to menopause-related symptoms, this can be selected from the yes/no drop-down field.(This is a non-mandatory field as we establish its use)
- This field can be completed directly by colleagues or by their line managers (if they are completing the time off form on behalf of, and with the permission of their direct report).
We hope the introduction of this new field will enable colleagues who want to, to share their menopause and its impact, and empower them to discuss any reasonable adjustments which will eliminate any workplace barriers they are facing.
All data collected through this field will be tightly controlled and treated with respect. The insights will be used to inform positive changes to guidance, process and awareness raising which will enhance the menopause provision for our community.
