I am Adedoyin Adeyanju; a second-year systems engineering undergraduate at the University of Warwick.

I have been involved in sport for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always interested in running and jumping, and as I got older, this developed into a passion for triple jump. Over the past four years, I have committed myself to this sport and it has had a great impact my life.

I have had the opportunity to represent my county at numerous national championships, such as England U20 Championships and BUCS Indoors and Outdoors Championships. This has allowed me to not only demonstrate my abilities at a highly competitive level, but also meet and compete against some of the best athletes in the country.

One of my greatest achievements was ending the 2022 season ranked 12th in the UK (U20 Age Group).

When I joined Team Warwick, I found a new level of motivation. Being part of a team and competing for the university has given me a sense of belonging and pride. The team spirit is unmatched, and we always push each other to be our best, both on and off the field.

One of my favourite things about being involved in sports at the University of Warwick is participating in the BUCS championships; a weekend away where we support and bond with our teammates while competing against athletes from other universities.

Sports have played a significant role in and contributed massively to my life, offering me opportunities to travel, meet new people, and learn about myself.

The discipline and hard work that I have invested into sport have given me transferable skills that I can apply all areas of my life. Additionally, participating in sports has helped me with my mental health. When I go to training, I can forget about all my worries and focus on something that brings me joy.

The University of Warwick has also helped with my involvement in sport through its scholarship scheme. I have access to top-notch facilities, including the gym, which has allowed me to take my training to the next level. I am grateful for the support that I have received from the university, and I am proud to be part of Team Warwick.

Sport has had a profound impact on my life, and I am thankful for the opportunities that it has given me.

Being part of Team Warwick at the University of Warwick has only added to this experience and I am excited to see where my passion for triple jump will take me in the future.
