Our new hub 'tops out'

The development of our new Sport and Wellness Hub recently celebrated the construction reaching its highest point.

On Tuesday 30 January, staff and students gathered at the site of the new Sport and Wellness Hub for a or a 'topping out' ceremony – a celebration of the construction reaching its highest point.

Registrar Rachel Sandby-Thomas was joined by representatives from Warwick Sport, the Students’ Union and some of our sports societies for the event, who all spoke about what the development meant to them.

“We all know that being healthy makes us learn better, be more resilient and productive, plus happier. So it’s great to see the new Sport and Wellness Hub going up.

It will act as a testament to the University’s commitment to this, help our campus be the most active in the UK and provide a top-class facility for students, employees and our local community alike.”

There was also a display from the Warwick Devils cheerleading and gymnastic society, and a performance from members of our student Big Band.
