Recovery Together Peer Support Group
Many staff and students at the University of Warwick face psychological, social and cultural barriers that make it difficult to feel confident using the gym or taking part in physical activity. While the Sports Hub and Wellbeing Support Services offer excellent support we think that there may be an additional opportunity to provide a Peer Support Group to help those staff and students returning after injury or managing long-term conditions.
Our vision is to build an inclusive community where people connect, support one another and rediscover enjoyment in movement – whatever their ability or experience level. The long-term vision is a campus where everyone feels empowered to move, recover and thrive together.
The first meeting will take place on 16th March at Senate House from 12 until 1pm. Please meet at Student Reception on the ground floor.
If you would like to discuss this new initiative further, please contact Denver Thorpe-Cusden Staff Wellbeing Lead or Joy Kurian Alumni Engagement Officer at Denver.thorpe@warwick.ac.uk Joy.kurian@warwick.ac.uk .
