Computing Society presents Warwick Speedrunning 2025
Started in 2016, Warwick Speedrunning is a 2-day speedrunning event held annually at the University of Warwick. It is the largest student-run speedrunning event in the UK. We've showcased a wide variety of games from nailbitingly difficult ones like Dark Souls III to living room favourites such as Mario Kart Wii and Splatoon 3. Moreover, we've run some less standard titles such as Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue and Tomodachi Collection. Some runs may even surprise you! Fan favourites include our Celeste on DK Bongos run, Super Monkey Ball and Geoguessr.

Carlos Noreña – Public Lecture - HRC 30th Anniversary Event
Title: The Roman Atlantic: Ecology and Empire on an Ocean Frontier
Synopsis: This presentation explores the Atlantic façade of the Roman empire, stretching from the British isles to the northwest coast of Africa. It surveys the peculiar ecologies of this seascape and its various interfaces with the coast; examines the making of a distinctly 'Roman' Atlantic, which combined Phoenician and Greek geographical knowledge with Roman infrastructural development; and traces the changing commercial and cultural connectivities that tethered this peripheral region to a Mediterranean empire. It concludes with some more general propositions about how we might write oceanic histories of the ancient world.
Followed by a drinks reception
