English Language
If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide evidence of an English language qualification to demonstrate your ability. This could be an IELTS or TOEFL examination, for example. Undergraduate Courses
For applicants studying STPM, this is considered with comparable grades to A level. Diplomas with very high grades may be accepted by certain departments.
We do not currently accept the College Foundation programmes.
For English language the 1119 qualification is only accepted when awarded up to and including 2020, and if conducted by the UCLES board usually with a minimum grade B or C.
Ministry of Education (MOE) Malaysian Matriculation Programme

Note: Some Malaysian universities also run their own university matriculation programme, which should not be confused with the MOE Malaysian Matriculation Programme.
Senior Unified Examination Certificate
For applicants who have studied the Senior Unified Examination Certificate and wish to apply for Humanities or Social Science undergraduate courses, we would need you to complete a foundation programme, such as the Warwick International Foundation Programme.
For applicants who wish to apply to our Faculty of Science, Engineering or Medicine undergraduate courses and have studied the Senior Unified Examination Certificate, our minimum requirements are stated below including any subject requirements.

Postgraduate Courses
The Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) has a rating system for Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) called SETARA. In the latest rating conducted in 2022, Malaysian IHLs are rated and classified into the following two categories:
- Berdaya Saing (Competitive): Excellent and have fulfilled all the criteria under the Malaysian Higher Education Institution Rating. These institutions are capable of competing at a higher level.
- Berdaya Maju (Viable): Good and have met the minimum criteria set. These institutions have the capability to progress and move towards a higher level.
Warwick only accepts students from universities (but not university colleges) rated as Berdaya Saing (Competitive) for Master’s courses.
